Congratulations Future POS of Pennsylvania 2016 RSPA Scholarship Winners

Congratulations to Carissa Spencer, Support Manager with Future POS of Pennsylvania, and Connor Frost, upcoming freshman at Kent State University and son of Future POS of Pennsylvania Sales Executive Doug Frost. Spencer and Frost are the 2016 recipients of higher education scholarships in the amount of $1500 from RSPA (Retail Solutions Providers Association). RSPA is a professional organization that Future POS of Pennsylvania is a member of; that supports the Hospitality Industry.

RSPA has awarded more than $2 million to families of RSPA member companies and employees of reseller members (and their families) who have been partners for 3 years or more. Each applicant is required to submit a Scholarship Application Essay as well as two written letters of reference from a teacher or professor.

Spencer has been an exceptional employee of Future POS of Pennsylvania for almost a decade, and during that time has gone from an entry level technician to running the entire Future POS of Pennsylvania service department.  She has aspirations of moving into the software development side of the business, and has gone back to school to get her degree as a software engineer.  Company President, John Giles stated “I can’t say enough about Carissa’s work ethic and determination over the years, and if there was ever a person in the point of sale industry that deserved the RSPA scholarship, it’s her.”

Frost, a recent Graduate of Butler High School, was a star football, track and lacrosse player, lettering all four years. Academically, he maintained a 3.1 GPA while taking all Honor and AP Classes. Connor’s ability to balance his activities without losing focus on his academics was a key factor for being chosen as a scholarship winner this year.
